- Locate where you'd like to set up the Swim Shady and wipe away the top layer of dry sand.
- Remove the sand screw Swim Shady piece from the carry bag.
- Begin to twist the sand screw piece clockwise into the sand. When you feel resistance, use the handles to drive the piece deeper into the sand. The bottom part of the folding handle should be close to touching the sand when you clip the handle back to the pole. This indicates you've reached enough depth. It's important to reach maximum depth and resistance. If in doubt, do one more rotation.
- When facing the water, the pole has one flat side which should be visible on the left.
- Remove the canopy piece from the carry bag.
- Slowly pull the end part of the canopy away from your body.
- As it's pulled slowly, the telescopic poles extend into final position and the two wing arms unfold and lock into place. Two buttons should click into place and the canopy will be taut.
- Turn the canopy over and press the hinge button in, bringing the vertical pole up to a 90-degree angle to the canopy.
- Slowly slide the telescopic pole down towards the ground to lock into place.
- Gently attach it to the lower sand screw piece by sliding it over the sand screw piece whilst pressing the silver button on the sand screw piece. The button should click into place. The Swim Shady is now set up.
- No force is required in setting up The Swim Shady - slow assembly is best.
- You can press the hinge button to position the shade up/down depending on the location of the sun.
- Reverse this process to pack away the Swim Shady (i.e. remove the canopy from the sand screw piece first before removing the sand screw piece).
